“New Webpage’

Well folks, how bout this for a new website?

As you can see we have been working really hard in the background to create for us all a new website that really addresses the needs of the West Mercia Scout County.

I’d like to thank Mark Bright for his work so far in getting the website to this position.

Like all websites or in fact any communication, this media will rely heavily on the whole county feeding the information in, the more that comes in, the more we shall be able to send out. Therefore I’d like to hear of all things going on in Groups and Districts.

But what’s happening across the county? lots of training being delivered by the training team, wood badge direct continues to be as popular as ever, the feedback we get from the learners who attend is great, if you need to get in touch with the team please go to the Training page of this website.

Activities – another Hafod weekend will take place on October 8-10th where leaders are being assessed for Hill Walking, this event goes from strength to strength each year and I am pleased to hear that the event this year is fully booked. With enough demand we might be able to run more events. Water activities are growing as we develop more County Assessors, I am looking forward to seeing these assessors at work in the near future.

Safeguarding – Emma Hartland and Kate McDonnell are hard at work spreading the word, they can deliver training in safeguarding to both adults and young members, I am pushing for this team to work directly in districts to deliver their training. If you wish to contact them please use the Safeguarding page again on this website.

I’ll leave this blog at that for now. Please keep revisiting the website and looking for what is new and what we have developed. Don’t forget you only get out what you put in…
